Bush Driving

Last week we had bush driving which was a fun experience. Dan took the men out one day, then it was the ladies turn. As Dan was taking us out to the path we were to drive on, us girls were thinking we were already on the path, which we thought was quite rough. Little did we know what was ahead. There were ditches down the middle of the path and rocks and boulders. And we each were to take a turn driving this path. We all survived and it turned out to be a lot of fun. The next day, the guys had to take this poor old Blazer out and get it stuck. The first attempt at getting it unstuck was too easy for them, so they decided it would be better to just drive it off the road. I posted a few pictures, which don't do the real thing justice. The first picture is of the first time they got it stuck.
Dan ( our teacher ) was used as traction :)

The guys had to take the truck out and get it stuck. The first attempt wasn't a big enough challenge, so they drove it off the road.
Believe it or not, it didn't take them that long to get it out.

These are the brave fools :) that drove it off the road.

Hi Guys!

It looks like you are having a lot of fun there!
I wanted to let you know that I while I was visiting a college friend this weekend their small group met and one of the families in it knows that they are called to missions but not totally sure about how and when. I have given them info about where to find the Master's mission and how to find your blog. So if a Monica or Joel Mayeski hunt you down its because of me. :)
I wish that I could come with the group that will be on their way shortly but I have to teach. I hope that you enjoy your visit. A few of us are thinking about trying to plan a trip down in the spring. I am praying for you all and I hope that you continue to have a great time down there!

Love ,
Aliechia

It looks quite interesting to get stuck on purpose. I've never actually tried that one. I do remember going back to the narrows on twenty mile, and getting my brothers jeep stuck in a hole just made for it. As we tried to get out,but couldn't. The hole was 18" deep. We had less than one foot to rock the Jeep. Each time we would almost make it out, but slide back in, and the Jeep would back fire. Aliechia who was maybe 4, would laugh each time, Archie cried, Pam just tried to be OK, Tom and I just got frustrated. Since we could not get out we took the small 5 or 6 foot chain and looked for some small lengths of tree 6" in diameter. We found one and chained it to the wheel on one side, put the jeep in low and started to creep onto the log. As the jeep came up we had found some stones and trough them under the tires. After about an hour we finally got out. It was then too late to go into the Gulf.

So enjoy your exercises. They will come in handy! I hope I can get back down to see you before you are done.

Blessings,
G.
